NRL’s Bulldogs wary of Idris ambush

Canterbury players say they wouldn’t be surprised to line up against former teammate Jamal Idris on Sunday despite the Gold Coast centre not being being named in the Titans squad.

Idris was left out of the struggling Titans line-up as he continues to battle a hamstring injury, but with the NRL club under pressure to perform on the field to help negate some of the dramas they are facing off it, the Bulldogs are wary.

Asked about the disappointment of missing out on the one-on-one battle with the giant three-quarter, Bulldogs centre Josh Morris said:

“It is, but he might want to really play and get back on the field.

“We might do a little bit of work on Jamal just in case he’s there.

“I know Jamal – knowing him he’ll want to get out there and play against all his old mates – it will be good if he does.”

The Bulldogs are also not discounting the possibility of Titans skipper Scott Prince overcoming his biceps injury to be a late inclusion for the Skilled Park clash.
