South Sydney skipper Greg Inglis has called an immediate end to his glittering 15-year NRL career, almost two years before his planned retirement date.
Inglis has been battling a serious shoulder problem and hasn’t played since round two against St George Illawarra but said the injury hadn’t contributed to his decision.
“There’s no retirement through mental illness or injuries or that. I just think it’s time and the right decision for myself. I’ve been contemplating it for a while now. I’ve come to terms with it,” Inglis said.
