NRL Round 20 Odds and Betting Preview – 2021

It might be a top of the table clash but the Panthers will start at their longest Head-to-Head odds in six years after blowing out to $6.50 with TAB for their heavyweight clash with the Storm.

The longest Penrith have previously been this year was $1.62 when they were favourites to beat the Storm in Round three but without Nathan Cleary, Isaah Yeo and Brian To’o, they have drifted from an opening price of $3.50 for Saturday night, while Melbourne have tightened from $1.30 into $1.10.

The Panthers haven’t been this long since last year’s round five match against Parramatta where they were $2.70 outsiders while the last time they were such juicy odds was Round 21, 2015 when they kicked off at $7 against the Rabbitohs.

Despite this Penrith are still better backed to win the Premiership with TAB than Melbourne who have firmed as competition favourites from $2.40 into $2.35.

In other NRL news from TAB:

  • Storm flyer Josh Addo-Carr has the chance to reel in South Sydney’s Alex Johnston in the Top Try Scorer battle. Johnston holds a three-try lead and is still $1.70 favourite despite facing another fortnight on the sidelines with injury. Addo-Carr is on the second line at $2.05, well clear of Maika Sivo and Jason Saab at $41.
  • With the top eight sides all playing each other, the Roosters kick off Round 20 as $2.25 outsiders against Parramatta ($1.65) despite both clubs being $15 in the Premiership market.
  • The depleted Dragons are set to be the longest starters of the weekend, drifting from $7 to $8.50 against Souths ($1.06).
  • Punters have written off Cronulla against Manly ($1.15) following the loss of Shaun Johnson. The Sharks going from $4 to $5.25 with the line moving from 12.5 to 18.5.
