Preview:
The North Queensland Cowboys take on the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks on Sunday, 6.30pm at 1300SMILES Stadium. The Sharks are currently sitting at sixth spot on the ladder, something that might be surprising to anyone who has watched them play this season. In contrast, the Cowboys are currently at 13th position, so it’s a case of now or never as far as they are concerned. The Cowboys might just be able to put enough pressure on an inconsistent Cronulla side to give them a fright, despite their respective ladder positions.

Cowboys name Tamou for Sharks NRL game
Test prop James Tamou will make his return from an NRL-imposed suspension following his drink driving charge after being named in North Queensland’s team for Sunday’s clash against Cronulla.
Tamou was suspended for two games and fined $20,000 after being arrested for drink driving in Townsville in the early hours of Monday, June 10.
The second match of that suspension will be Wednesday night’s second State of Origin clash in Brisbane and Cowboys coach Neil Henry has immediately named the front-rower for the home game against the Sharks.
Tamou’s inclusion is the only change from the Cowboys team which beat St George Illawarra at Woollongong last time out with Scott Bolton dropping down to a seven-man bench.
“He’s a massive part of our team and he adds so much up front,” Cowboys back-rower Tariq Sims said.
“Hopefully Matty Scott can come back unscathed but if not we’ve got the blokes that are big and ugly enough to take their spots.
“We’re pretty pumped about that and excited to get the full squad back.”
Gavin Cooper, returning from a knee injury, and rookie Ethan Lowe have also been named on the bench along with Origin representatives Matt Scott, Johnathan Thurston and Brent Tate.
Sunday’s match will also be Ash Graham’s 200th in the NRL.
