TAB punters are forecasting a huge Grand Final performance from South Sydney star Cody Walker and there are multiple pointers as to why he will win the Clive Churchill Medal on Sunday.
TAB has crunched the numbers on past winners and came up with Walker as the likely Player Of The Match.
TAB: Clive Churchill Medal stats:
- Nine of last 12 have been a halfback, five-eighth or fullback
- 13 of last 15 have played State of Origin
- Eight of last 11 have finished in the top 10 of the Dally M Medal count
- Only three captains have won the award in the NRL era
Walker ($7.50) has been heavily supported to claim the award with 20 percent of the market – equal with Panthers co-captain Nathan Cleary, who is the $3.50 favourite and Souths Lock Cameron Murray who has tightened from $15 in to $10. (see attached)
Walker has also been equal best backed to be First Try Scorer at healthy odds of $19, alongside market favourite Brian To’o who is paying $8.
Souths continue to be the best supported side in TAB’s Head-to-Head market with 65 percent of the hold so far despite being $2.25 underdogs. (see attached)
