The NRL has moved to stamp out slapping by encouraging referees to sin-bin any player niggling an opponent.
The NRL competition committee on Wednesday recommended that any player who slaps with an open palm should be sin-binned.
The committee also recommended against introducing an 18th man to each team’s bench as a concussion replacement.
