The Sea Eagles are lucky to have Anthony Watmough in the line-up following Origin 1, however, with the Manly side slight favourites to win and improve on their 9 from 10 record against the Warriors.

Warriors want Packer incident behind them

The Warriors want to close the zipper on the Russell Packer urinating incident, saying they are dealing with it in-house.

The Warriors have been fined $15,000 after Packer’s indiscretion on the field was caught on camera just before Monday’s victory over Brisbane.

Packer was absent from training when the Warriors fronted reporters on Thursday, coach Matthew Elliott saying the front-rower was training inside while dealing with an injury.

Elliott says the club has taken internal action but that the team shouldn’t need any training on how to deal with a similar situation.

“I understand the interest in it, but there was 25 other people out there that didn’t have the same issue, so we just need to get on board with what the other 25 people did,” he said.

“Us and Russell have recognised that we would have preferred what happened against the Broncos didn’t, and we’re going to deal with it and we’re going to move on from it.”

Elliott didn’t want to comment on the level of the fine.

NRL football operations general manager Nathan McGuirk said Packer’s behaviour was unacceptable.

Packer initially tweeted “Good win when u gotta go you gotta go lol” after the incident, but tweeted an apology the next day.
