New Milford-Brisbane NRL deal ‘done’: Boyd

The jury is out on when Brisbane make it official but Broncos NRL skipper Darius Boyd says Anthony Milford’s re-signing is a done deal.

Brisbane were expected to announce on Monday that they had snapped up the playmaker in a new four-year, $4 million deal after staving off a raid from Melbourne.

The Broncos are still yet to confirm the re-signing ahead of Saturday night’s clash with Manly, as part of a NRL doubleheader at Suncorp Stadium.

But Boyd on Wednesday removed any remaining doubt over Milford’s future.

“As far as I know, it has been a done deal for a while,” he said.

“I don’t think he is too worried about it.

“It is something that the club is sorting out now.”

Milford reportedly knocked back $1.2 million a year from the Storm to remain with Brisbane.

The five-eighth is believed to have signed a deal that will make him the first $1 million a season Broncos player.

“I know Milf loves the club; he loves the environment here,” Boyd said.

“His family is here. I know he wanted to come back here.

“I don’t think he will be leaving.”
