Mitchell in, Turner out for NSW Waratahs

Drew Mitchell has been recalled at the expense of fellow Wallabies winger Lachie Turner in the NSW Waratahs team to host the Blues in their Super Rugby clash on Sunday.

Dumped for last week’s loss to the Cheetahs, Mitchell was reinstated on Friday while coach Michael Cheika opted to retain impressive newcomer Peter Betham on the other wing, dropping Turner from the match squad.

In the only other change to the starting team, Rob Horne was promoted to inside centre to replace the injured Berrick Barnes, who is out for six or seven weeks after undergoing surgery to a dislocated thumb.

On the bench, Wallabies prop Sekope Kepu was recalled in place of Jeremy Tilse while Jed Holloway replaces Lopeti Timani and Tom Kingston takes Horne’s place.

NSW Waratahs: Israel Folau, Peter Betham, Adam Ashley-Cooper, Rob Horne, Drew Mitchell, Bernard Foley, Brendan McKibbin, Pat McCutcheon, Michael Hooper, Dave Dennis (capt), Kane Douglas, Sitaleki Timani, Paddy Ryan, John Ulugia, Benn Robinson. Res: Luke Holmes, Sekope Kepu, Mitchell Chapman, Jed Holloway, Matt Lucas, Ben Volavola, Tom Kingston.
