Melbourne Storm will look to keep their minor premiership hopes alive when they host the Sydney Roosters at AAMI Park on Friday night. The Storm bring a five-game winning run into the clash, a streak that began with their narrow 34-30 victory over the Roosters in Round 20. Last week’s 20-14 win over Canterbury secured them a home qualifying final, and they’ll be keen to maintain momentum heading into September.
The Roosters, however, have work to do after a costly 30-10 loss to Parramatta halted their late-season surge. Sitting on the edge of the top eight, they’ll need a strong response. Daniel Tupou’s return is a boost, but the absence of Sam Walker through concussion forces a reshuffle, with Sandon Smith and Hugo Savala forming the new halves pairing.
