McGregor upset at Frizell NRL ban

St George Illawarra coach Paul McGregor has questioned the decision of the NRL judiciary to uphold Tyson Frizell’s grade five careless high tackle on Wednesday night.

Frizell will sidelined for two matches after his efforts to reduce the penalty to a single game was thrown out by the three-man panel after he caught Canterbury prop Tim Browne across the jaw and knocking him out last Sunday.

“It didn’t work out for us, but if you look at Frizell he has had 1300-plus tackles in his career with three penalties against him,” McGregor said.

“It’s just not his game … I think it was an ugly accident but never a grade five offence.”
