Interim ARLC chief executive Shane Mattiske has told NRL club bosses rugby league is in the best shape of its 104-year history.
Mattiske addressed chief executives on Wednesday with the first State of The Game Report since the formation the ARLC earlier this year.
He hailed a successful year that’s seen the signing of a $1 billion dollar broadcast deal, record matchday attendances of 3.15 million and club membership subscriptions in excess of 200,000.
Mattiske also said that TV audience figures had grown across Fox Sports, the Nine, WIN and NBN Networks with average free to air ratings 0.3 per cent higher and Fox Sports overall ratings up by 1.4 per cent.
To cap off a tremendous year the ARLC was named governing body of the year at the prestigious international Beyond Sport Awards in London last month.
“The ARLC is proud to deliver its first State of the Game Report which makes an undeniable statement that Rugby League is in the best shape in its 104-year history,” Mattiske said.
