Feleti Mateo was omitted from Manly’s trip to Auckland to play the Warriors to help his ill wife, says coach Trent Barrett.
Speaking at Sydney airport on Thursday, Barrett said Mateo needed to be with his family but he acknowledged he also was not happy with the backrower’s form.
Mateo will instead play for Manly’s NSW Cup side on Saturday.
