James Maloney thought he would never play State of Origin again after losing the 2013 series.
The Cronulla star feared he wouldn’t get the opportunity to atone for that defeat until he received a phone call from NSW coach Laurie Daley on Sunday informing him of his selection for game one.
Maloney said from the Blues Coffs Harbour base on Wednesday he was using the 2013 defeat as motivation this time around.
