Several candidates for the vacant NRL chief executive position have already been identified as the code looks to fill the role quickly.
Australian Rugby League Commission chairman John Grant says there is no timeframe set for an appointment but the role needs to be filled “as soon as possible”.
Grant also says talk of a 6pm kickoff for Friday night games in Queensland under a new television deal is premature, with the particulars of the deal far from settled.
