Promoted English Super League club London Broncos have signed Australian forward Luke Yates from the Newcastle Knights.

Yates, 23, who plays both prop and loose forward, joins the Londoners on a one year deal.

Broncos coach Danny Ward said they were pleased to have Yates joining us for the club’s return to the top flight.

“He will give us more depth to our middle and create more competition for places,” he said.

“He is a young, hungry, hard-working forward with NRL experience already under his belt.”

Yates said it was a great opportunity to be able to play in the Super League.

“I am looking forward to meeting all the boys here and helping to keep the club in the top level next season,” he added.
