Lawrence’s NRL season over for Manly

Manly’s injury toll continues to mount with prop Brenton Lawrence ruled out for the rest of the NRL season due to a pectoral muscle injury.

Lawrence suffered the injury in Friday night’s loss to Canberra.

It is another blow to Lawrence who has struggled for the past two seasons with a back injury.

Lawrence’s loss adds to a worrying toll for Manly coach Trent Barrett.

Centre Steve Matai is out indefinitely due to a neck issue. Daly Cherry-Evans will miss a month and skipper Jamie Lyon is sidelined for two weeks – both with ankle injuries.

Utility Isaac John is out until round 16, while hooker Justin Hodges won’t play again this year due to an ACL injury.

Manly confirmed the extent of Lawrence’s injury on Tuesday evening.

“Best wishes to prop Brenton Lawrence with his recovery after being ruled out for the season with a pec injury,” the club said.
