Utility Rory Kostjasyn has announced his retirement from the NRL due to a throat injury having not played a game for new club Newcastle.
Kostjasyn, 30, suffered the injury in a pre-season training mishap after joining the Knights in the off-season from North Queensland, where he won the 2015 premiership.
“Retirement was a combination of medical advice and how my body was unable to adapt to a reduced airway,” Kostjasyn said in a statement on Tuesday.
