Paul Gallen is refusing to concede time is catching up with him as he faces the next six weeks on the sidelines with a knee injury.

The NSW Origin captain is expected to miss four to six NRL rounds with damage to his meniscus and poster crucial ligament suffered in Saturday’s 20-14 loss to premiers North Queensland.

Gallen, 34, who has been injury prone managing just 27 appearances for his club over 2014-15, says that won’t affect his upcoming round of contract talks as he aims to extend his career into 2017.
