Key match-ups in Eels-Cowboys final

THREE KEY MATCH-UPS IN EELS-COWBOYS NRL SEMI-FINAL

* Semi Radradra v Kyle Feldt

Radradra has scored eight tries in the past three weeks, and if he gets going it’s very hard to see the Eels getting beaten. Radradra will leave the country for French rugby immediately after the Eels’ run ends, but that won’t be on Saturday if he has anything to do with it. The powerful winger leads the Eels for tries, metres, line breaks and tackle busts this year. Feldt hasn’t been in bad form himself lately either, but if he can slow down Radradra the job will be halfway to done for North Queensland.

* Nathan Brown v Jason Taumalolo

Opposition coaches have given up on trying to stop Taumalolo, so it’s now just a matter of slowing him down and minimising his impact. The Cowboys lock has enjoyed the fifth-most dominant season by a forward ever in the NRL, running a league-high average of 192 metres. If any team is going to limit his output though, it’s the Eels. His two least productive games this season have both been against Parramatta, while his opposing number, Brown, has been one of the most improved players in the NRL this year.

* Mitchell Moses v Michael Morgan

Both halves enter Saturday’s semi-final in the form of their careers. Parramatta have won 11 of 15 games since Moses’ arrival in May, with the 22-year-old taking a stack of pressure off five-eighth Corey Norman. Meanwhile Morgan’s ability to step up in the absence of Johnathan Thurston has kept the Cowboys’ season alive – most notably his field goal in extra time against Cronulla last Sunday. Whoever can control the tempo of Saturday’s semi final, and step up again when it matters, could determine which team figures in next week’s preliminary final against the Sydney Roosters.
