Wests Tigers prop Aaron Woods insists he has nothing to prove to Brisbane’s Queensland State of Origin contingent in the NRL clash against the Broncos at Suncorp Stadium on Sunday.

Woods, who was one of NSW’s best players in the Origin series, returns to the ground where the Blues were destroyed by the Maroons in the deciding match last week.

The Broncos have three members of the Maroons’ pack – Sam Thaiday, Corey Parker and Matt Gillett – together with backs Justin Hodges and Darius Boyd, but Woods said proving anything to them wasn’t on his mind.

“No, not really. I’ve just got a job to do. JT (coach Jason Taylor) has spoken to us during the week about what he wants from us and if I do that role, we could have success,” Woods said on Thursday.

“We are just worried about getting our season back on track for the Tigers.”

Woods said he enjoyed a five-day break after Origin and is looking forward to the clash with the table-topping Broncos who have won six straight matches.

“It was good to get home and living in my joint again. I’ve been living out of a hotel for the last few weeks, so it’s good to be back,” he said.

The Tigers have lost three consecutive games, but Woods said his side was refreshed after a bye week.

Halfback Luke Brooks and centre Tim Simona return for the Tigers who are looking at the doing the simple things well to turn the season around.

“We’re starting to get our players back, but we need to just start playing for 80 minutes again, and that’s the most frustrating thing this season.”

Woods said he’d love captain and hooker Robbie Farah to make his return from a broken hand this weekend, but admitted that appeared unlikely.

“I know he’ll be doing everything he can, but it still looks a bit swollen and I don’t think they are going to risk him,” he said.
