Darius Boyd has welcomed the prospect of being offered the Queensland No.1 jersey but believes Greg Inglis will be the Maroons fullback if Billy Slater remains sidelined.
Boyd believes Inglis will be the man to again step up in Slater’s absence if the Melbourne veteran fullback does not recover from a shoulder injury ahead of the State of Origin opener on June 1 in Sydney.
Slater has been sidelined indefinitely with a recurrence of the injury that forced him to miss nine months of football, including last year’s Origin III clash.
