Inglis unlikely to face Roosters

Greg Inglis is highly unlikely to make return from knee surgery in South Sydney’s final round NRL clash with arch-rivals Sydney Roosters on Friday.

Inglis underwent arthroscopic surgery on his knee early last week, missing the Rabbitohs’ last-start loss to Brisbane.

The superstar fullback is yet to train with the team and is still experiencing soreness in the troublesome joint.

Coach Michael Maguire will make a decision on Inglis’ fitness later in the week.

But Souths prop George Burgess conceded on Tuesday that Inglis was “pushing” to be right for the clash with the Roosters.

If Inglis doesn’t take the field against the Tricolours, he will almost certainly return for the Rabbitohs in the opening week of the finals.
