Brisbane halfback Ben Hunt is set to shift to hooker after Andrew McCullough was ruled out for the NRL season with a knee injury.

The Broncos’ season was dealt a major blow when McCullough injured his anterior cruciate ligament in Friday night’s loss to Parramatta.

“Ben’s … a very smart player, a smart halfback, so moving into the hooking role shouldn’t be a worry,” Broncos forward Korbin Sims told reporters on Monday, ahead of Saturday’s clash with Gold Coast.
