Hodges should play in final: Parker

Brisbane veteran Corey Parker says he hopes common sense will prevail and retiring captain Justin Hodges is free to play in Sunday’s NRL grand final in Sydney.

Hodges will fight a grade-one dangerous throw charge at the judiciary on Tuesday night that threatens to rule him out of the season decider.

Parker said the Hodges judiciary drama was not a distraction for the team ahead of their first grand final since 2006 and was quietly confident Hodges would get a chance at a fairy-tale farewell.

“Hopefully common sense prevails when we go down there, fingers crossed he’s ok,” Parker said.
