Greg Eastwood has revealed Canterbury coach Des Hasler is concerned about the Bulldogs’ lack of discipline and has the players working hard on cleaning up their act.

The NRL ladder leaders have won 10 straight matches going into Sunday’s clash with Brisbane at ANZ Stadium but are the second most-penalised team in the competition.

Incredibly, the Bulldogs have won the penalty count in just three games this season.

Hasler appeared fed up following Saturday night’s win over Newcastle and slammed the standard of refereeing in that match.

It led to Hasler being served a $10,000 breach notice which has prompted some fans to reportedly start a fund to pay the fine as they believe the Bulldogs are hard done by.

But back-rower Greg Eastwood on Wednesday admitted discipline is a problem for the Bulldogs and they are trying to address the issue ahead of the finals.

“Definitely – we’ve sort of got to work on that. Our discipline just around the ruck and that has sort of cost us a bit of ball possession,” he said.

“Des is sort of getting onto us about trying to work on that discipline and limiting the penalties.”

Eastwood’s comments come after Hasler told a post-match media conference on Saturday night he was perplexed by the hammering the Bulldogs were copping from referees this year.

“At the moment, we are sitting in the top four but we are the most-penalised side in the competition and I don’t think we are playing that ill-disciplined football to have that against us,” Hasler said.

Eastwood is expecting a stern test from the Broncos who have lost their past three games.

“In this day and age, teams can turn their form around,” he said.

“Even though they’ve had a few losses, they are still playing some good football.”
