Melbourne Storm forward Tohu Harris is in line for a possible Test debut after being called into the New Zealand squad to face Australia in Canberra on Friday.
Kiwis selectors promoted 21-year-old Harris because of the doubt surrounding veteran back-row forward Jeremy Smith.
Smith faces a grade three NRL dangerous contact charge following an incident playing for his Newcastle Knights against the Penrith Panthers on Saturday.
Second-rower Harris, who is from Hastings, made his first grade debut this year after three seasons in the Storm junior ranks and has impressed with his lively performances.
He joins two other Storm forwards in the Kiwis squad – prop Jesse Bromwich and second-rower Kevin Proctor.
Harris is a former Junior Kiwis teammate of another uncapped squad member, Sydney Roosters winger Roger Tuivasa-Sheck.
