Graham’s ankle no concern at Sharks

Wade Graham could play for Cronulla in a trial match on Sunday after the Sharks cleared him of an ankle injury sustained in the NRL All Stars clash.

Graham limped from the field late in Saturday’s match for the Indigenous All Stars after Maori skipper Adam Blair landed on his ankle in a tackle.

But Cronulla medical staff have determined the club’s captain does not require scans on the ankle and he could be available to play in the club’s final trial against Manly at Kogarah on Sunday.

Meanwhile luckless hooker Cameron King is awaiting the result of scans on his knee on Monday.

The club thinks it could be an anterior crucial ligament, which would end his season after he was injured in their trial loss to Canterbury.

It would be a cruel blow to the 28-year-old, who has only returned to the NRL in 2020 after going unsigned last year in Australia and playing in the English Super League.

The Sharks are also managing the workload of star fullback Matt Moylan.

Moylan trained on Monday morning with the team, but has had his workload modified this summer in a bid to manage his troublesome hamstring.

The 28-year-old suffered repeated problems last year that reduced him to just 11 games and he is no certainty to be fit for their round-one clash with South Sydney on March 14.
