News :

After putting their fans through another disappointing NRL campaign, Gold Coast coach Neil Henry wants his players to give their supporters a season finish to remember.

The Titans have won just six of 22 matches at home in the past two years and are destined for a fifth consecutive season without finals football.

With their season starting amid the cloud of several leading players being charged with cocaine offences by Queensland’s Crime and Corruption Commission, things have hardly improved from there.

Voluntary administration; the Daly Cherry-Evans backflip; captain Nate Myles signing with Manly for next season – hardly anything has gone right in 2015 for Henry.

But if you think his team is lacking motivation going into Sunday’s second last home game against Canberra, then you’re mistaken.

“Our record hasn’t been great at home … that’s what we’re playing for,” Henry said.

“We’re playing for our fans and for the satisfaction of getting a win in the competition.”

The Titans have been boosted with Myles to make his return from a shoulder injury against the Raiders while fellow forward Ryan James is also back in action.

Rookie halfback Kane Elgey is a chance to play, making a quicker-than-expected recovery from a hamstring injury.

Henry said how Elgey pulled up from Saturday’s captain’s run would determine if he played.

“He said he feels pretty good but he’s still inconvenienced,” Henry said.

“We’ll wait and see … Daniel Mortimer has been training in that position and we’ve Kierran Moseley to come in.”

The Raiders’ finals hopes are shot after three straight defeats, including a controversial 26-24 loss last weekend to Manly.

Despite that poor form, Henry is wary of Ricky Stuart’s side, especially after receiving a 56-16 hiding from the Raiders earlier this year in Canberra.

“Last time, Blake Austin – he carved us up,” Henry said.

“You can talk all you like about his sidestep but he just went through us twice for two easy tries.

“They’ve got a lot to like about their team and Ricky will be pushing them to finish the season with three wins if they can.”

TITANS v RAIDERS – Key match stats:

* Gold Coast have conceded the most tries (4.7 per game) and linebreaks (5.8 per game) this season

* This season, the Titans have lost all three matches in which Aidan Sezer has been missing, averaging just six points per game

* Canberra have only won three of 12 matches in Queensland in the past five seasons, however two of those three wins have come against the Titans on the Gold Coast
