JARRYD HAYNE’S PATH TO GOLD COAST – HOME OF DREAMWORLD
* 2006 – Scores 17 tries in 16 games in his debut season to help lift Parramatta into the NRL finals. Named Dally M Rookie of the Year and picked in Kangaroos squad.
* May 2007 – Makes his State of Origin debut. Goes on to play 20 matches for NSW, scoring nine tries.
* October 2007 – Scores a try on debut for Australia against New Zealand. Goes on to play 11 matches for the Kangaroos, scoring 11 tries.
* March 2008 – Involved in an early morning incident in Sydney’s Kings Cross, where a gunshot was fired in his direction following an argument outside a nightclub.
* November 2008 – Represents Fiji in the Rugby League World Cup. Claims it is a life-changing experience.
* September 2009 – Produces a sparkling run of form to propel Parramatta from near the bottom of the ladder all the way to the grand final. Hayne was named Dally M Player of the Year.
* Oct 2014 – Helps NSW win Origin series, wins second Dally M medal, quits Eels to try to play NFL in US.
* March 2015 – Signs with San Francisco 49ers.
* Sept 2015 – Makes final 49ers squad after shining in pre-season, but drops first punt return in debut v Minnesota.
* October 2015 – Dropped by the 49ers for their game against Seattle.
* November 2015 – Cut from the 49ers main roster, but not picked up by any other NFL franchise. Returns to the club’s practice squad.
* December 2015 – Recalled to the 49ers squad and plays the final 2 games in their 5-11 season.
* April 2016 – Returns to the 49ers under new coach Chip Kelly, saying the new attacking structure will suit him.
* May 7, 2016 – Survives the first round of cuts at the 49ers, despite the club signing running back Kelvin Taylor.
* May 16, 2016 – Announces he is quitting the NFL to attempt to represent Fiji in the Olympics at Rugby Sevens.
* July 11, 2016 – Reveals he failed to make Fiji’s Rugby Sevens team for the Rio Olympics.
* August 3, 2016 – Signs with the Gold Coast Titans on a two-year deal, set to debut for the club on Sunday.
