Cronulla coach Shane Flanagan expects Andrew Fifita to use the storm caused by his alleged State of Origin blow-up to propel him into the final months of the NRL season.
Fifita’s planned bench relegation for game three has been one of the sideshows of the Blues’ Origin fallout, and Flanagan said it will act to motivate the front-rower against South Sydney on Friday night.
“It’s probably a little bit unwarranted maybe … I’d hope (it spurs him on). … Andrew has said he didn’t know too much about it and it doesn’t really affect us here at Cronulla,” Flanagan said.
