Ex-Titans boss has offices raided: report

The offices of former Gold Coast Titans NRL owner Michael Searle have reportedly been raided by Australian Federal Police.

The Courier-Mail reports Searle’s offices were raided on behalf of the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet in relation to his Titans 4 Tomorrow charity.

Neither Searle nor the Titans 4 Tomorrow organisation have any current connection to the Titans after the NRL took over the club earlier in the year, with Searle losing his share in the club as it was placed in voluntary administration.

In a brief statement released to media, the Titans clarified they have no link with the situation.

“Titans 4 Tomorrow is a stand alone company with its own board, management, staff, premises and finances,” the statement read.

“Gold Coast Titans Football Club wants to make it absolutely clear that there is no connection or relationship between the two organisations as both have completely separate ownership models.”

Former Titans star Preston Campbell is among a few ex-Titans footballers who are involved in the charity, which is involved in indigenous welfare programs.
