Canterbury skipper Michael Ennis has reportedly agreed to a two-year NRL deal with Cronulla.
The Sharks have been in the market for a new hooker from 2015, with current No.9 John Morris to retire at season’s end and back-up rake Isaac De Gois switching to Parramatta to replace injured star Nathan Peats.
The Sutherland Shire-based club are expected to announce Ennis’ signing as soon as this week, Fairfax Media reported on Wednesday.
The news would no doubt provide a boost for the Sharks, who sit second-last on the NRL ladder with just two wins from 12 games.
Ennis is believed to have turned down an offer from Canberra after touring their headquarters last month.
