Parramatta have confirmed the signing of hooker Matt McIlwrick on a one-year NRL deal beginning this week.

The Eels were in need of depth at dummy-half after granting Kaysa Pritchard indefinite leave to deal with long-term injury issues.

“It’s a good opportunity. I’ve heard great things about club. Hopefully I can take it with both hands,” said McIlwrick, who has previously played for the Raiders, Roosters, Sharks and Wests Tigers.
