NSW State of Origin fullback Josh Dugan has been cleared by the NRL match review panel over a late tackle during his St George Illawarra team’s Friday night NRL loss to North Queensland.
Recalled to the NSW squad on Sunday to replace the injured Jarryd Hayne, Dugan’s availability for Origin game 2 in Brisbane on June 26 was in some doubt following a lazy, late shot on Cowboys and Queensland playmaker Johnathan Thurston at WIN Stadium.
However the 23-year-old was cleared to play when the match review panel on Monday said no players would be charged from round 14 NRL matches.
