Dragons sign another NRL forward

St George-Illawarra have signed Warriors forward Sebastine Ikahihifo on a two-year NRL deal, beginning from next season.

The 24-year-old is the second big man the club has signed in a week, following the recruitment of Manly forward Dunamis Lui, who also committed until the end of 2017.

The pair are likely to compete with Jack de Belin for the lock-forward position, in place of Penrith-bound forward Trent Merrin.

Ikahihifo has played 39 games for the Warriors after making his first-grade debut in 2012.

“Sebastine is an exciting young forward who boasts attributes including both a powerful running game and is very strong defensively,” said Dragons director of recruitment and retention Peter Mulholland.

“He has been a regular part of the Warriors pack this season and will add valuable depth to the squad next season.”

Ikahihifo and Lui will join fellow signings Siliva Havili (Warriors), Mose Masoe (St Helens), and Kurt Mann (Melbourne) when the team returns for pre-season in early November.
