Dragons lose Vaughan for a month

St George Illawarra are set to be without prop Paul Vaughan for up to a month because of a calf injury.

The in-form forward hobbled from the field in the third minute of the Dragons’ win over Newcastle on Sunday and is set to miss three to four weeks, according to club head of athletic performance Nathan Pickworth.

Paul McGregor has however dodged a bullet with back-rower Tyson Frizell avoiding serious injury after twisting his leg in the same game, with the NSW representative hopeful of taking on Gold Coast on Friday night.
