The Phins can ruin the finals chances of Queensland rivals the Cowboys on Friday night, but they’d obviously need to improve tenfold.

Their fast start to the season came to a screeching halt quite a while ago now, and it’s fair to say that the Phins have been one of the NRL’s easy beats. They’ll learn plenty from their debut campaign, and I’m sure they’ll be a lot better in 2024.

The Cowboys looked an absolute moral for the finals as recently as three weeks ago, but they have completely gone to water, and they now need to win their remaining two games and hope other results go their way. They look tired, and like a side that has been trying to make a late charge for a while now.

I think that the Cowboys depth and class edge will see them into winning form again, but I think it’ll be pretty close.
