Canterbury fullback Ben Barba says the Bulldogs expect Parramatta to recall struggling halfback Chris Sandow for Friday night’s NRL clash.
Sandow was dumped to the NSW Cup in a desperate bid by coach Stephen Kearney to shake the high-profile recruit out of his slump.
But Barba anticipates Sandow returning for the match-up between the traditional rivals at ANZ Stadium with a point to prove.
“I’m sure Chrissy will turn up to play,” Barba said.
“I’m sure they’ll try and hide it till Friday.
“He’s a fiery customer, Chrissy. I’m sure he’ll want to be there for this big clash.
“He’ll want to come out and prove his point to his coach and team.”
The Eels head into the game having won just one of their opening eight matches, although the Bulldogs are in need of a victory themselves.
After winning their opening three games, the Bulldogs have dropped four of their past five, including last Friday’s 12-10 loss to Manly.
