Laurie Daley’s tenure as NSW State of Origin coach is over after the NSW Rugby League decided not to renew his contract.

The Blues have won just one series since Daley took over in 2013, and the NSWRL confirmed on Friday they would employ a new coach.

“I have spoken with Laurie and he understands the decision. He is obviously disappointed but he has enjoyed the journey and appreciated the opportunity,” chairman Dr George Peponis said.
