South Sydney will been spared the prospect of taking on Canterbury on Friday without Michael Crocker.
Former Queensland star Crocker will be cleared to play if he pleads guilty to a grade one dangerous contact charge.
Crocker was put on report for a challenge on Wests Tigers fullback Tim Moltzen in the first half of his NRL side’s 17-16 golden point win at Allianz Stadium on Sunday.
With fellow key forward Sam Burgess set to be sidelined for up to two months through injury, Crocker is certain to accept the charge and be free to face the Bulldogs on Friday afternoon.
Gold Coast forward Bodene Thompson will also escape suspension if he pleads guilty to a grade one dangerous contact charge against Canterbury’s Frank Pritchard.
Similarly, Parramatta’s Reni Maitua won’t miss any matches if he takes the early guilty plea after being placed on report for a careless tackle on Manly’s Brett Stewart.
Melbourne’s Anthony Quinn, who was put on report twice for challenges on Newcastle’s Junior Sa’u, will miss one game if he pleads guilty to both charges.
There were also six players charged with fighting during a spiteful Toyota Cup clash between Melbourne and Newcastle at AAMI Park on Friday.
Storm players Karl Davies, who was sent off, and Richard Kennar were slugged with grade three charges for an incident in the 72nd-minute of the game.
Teammates Barnabas Tavu’i-Leota and Waita Setu were handed grade two charges for their roles in the incident that involved Geordie Connelly and Chad Redman from the visiting side.
The Knights pair also received grade two charges.
All six will miss at least one game.
