North Queensland winger Kyle Feldt faces a three-match NRL ban for his shoulder charge on Canberra captain Jarrod Croker on Monday night.
Feldt has been hit with a grade three charge for the shot on Croker in the final minute of the Raiders’ 26-12 win over the Cowboys.
The Cowboys’ star will cop a three-game ban if he takes an early guilty plea but faces five matches on the sidelines if he contests the charges and loses.
Feldt collected Croker’s chin with his right shoulder as a forward pass from Jack Wighton drifted over the pair’s head in what was the final play of the match.
In a double-blow for the Cowboys, fullback Lachlan Coote is also facing a ban after being charged with making contrary conduct with a match official.
Coote was cited after making contact with referee Grant Atkins in the celebrations after debutant Josh Chudleigh scored the Cowboys’ second try of the match.
The Cowboys No.1 appeared to be questioning why Atkins was calling for the try to be reviewed by the bunker after Chudleigh’s 30m dash to the line.
Coote faces a one-game ban regardless of whether he takes the early plea or contests his charge.
