Canterbury Bulldogs vs New Zealand Warriors Preview
Canterbury will look to steady the ship at home on Sunday when they face a battered Warriors outfit desperate to stay in top-four contention. The Bulldogs were flying high after three straight wins, including a 42-4 demolition of Manly, but were brought back to earth by a 28-14 defeat to the Tigers in a fiery clash.
Lachie Galvin, who left the Tigers in controversial fashion, is in doubt with a hand injury, though the Bulldogs remain otherwise unchanged. The Warriors, meanwhile, are nursing a growing injury list and have now dropped four of their last six, including last week’s gut-wrenching 20-18 loss to the Dolphins.
Chanel Harris-Tavita and Demetric Vaimauga return, but key playmakers Wayde Egan and Jacob Laban are sidelined, and James Fisher-Harris remains in doubt.
Canterbury snapped a six-game losing streak to the Warriors with two wins late last year and are 6-2 at Accor Stadium this season. With a settled spine and sharper attacking edge, the Bulldogs should have the upper hand.
