Preview:
The Bulldogs take on the Melbourne Storm on Sunday, 3.00pm at ANZ Stadium. While this is a repeat of last year’s grand final and a highly anticipated match, for some reason, it has been scheduled in the middle of the State of Origin series. This means some pretty key omissions for both sides, with the Storm without Smith, Slater, and Cronk to name a few. The Bulldogs will also be without Morris and Reynolds, but are likely to suffer less due to Origin duty. Canterbury have a lot to play for this weekend, with a victory needed here to keep their final four aspirations alive. The Bulldogs will be expected to win this one, with a depleted Melbourne outfit needing to be in top form if they want to bring home the points.

NRL clears Storm duo of cannonball tackles
Reigning premiers Melbourne have escaped sanction over a pair of suspected cannonball tackles on Brisbane forward Corey Parker in Friday night’s NRL clash.
The Storm’s defensive tactics became a hot topic after prop Bryan Norrie and winger Sisa Waqa appeared to target an infuriated Parker on separate occasions at AAMI Park.
But both were cleared of any wrongdoing on Monday as the NRL match review committee announced no players would be charged from round 17 games to date.
Norrie reportedly apologised to Parker for spearing in to tackle him across the knees as he was held by two other players during the Broncos’ 32-0 thrashing.
The tackle was penalised but Parker didn’t think it was intentional.
“I don’t think Norrie is one of those antagonistic players, so I’m happy to leave it at that,” Parker told News Ltd.
South Sydney’s Sam Burgess also avoided any penalty after being placed on report for a high-tackle on Warriors halfback Shaun Johnson in the second half of Sunday night’s 30-13 victory in Perth.
So, too, did Canberra interchange Sam Mataora for his high tackle on North Queensland’s Dallas Johnson on Sunday.
