Campese set to join Super League’s Salford

Raiders captain Terry Campese might have played his last NRL game for Canberra, amid growing speculation he will move to the Super League next year and most likely sign with the Salford Reds.

Campese’s manager Jim Banaghan has told Fairfax Media: “I can confirm that I have spoken to Salford, amongst other clubs, about Terry Campese and possibilities for next year.

“I will be sitting down with Terry on Monday to go through a number of offers we have received.”

Campese had previously been linked with Super League clubs Hull FC and Hull KR.

His five-year deal with the Raiders expires at the end of next year but there’s every indication an early release is on the cards for a move to England.
