Burt dropped, Hayne returns for NRL’s Eels

Veteran Parramatta winger Luke Burt has again been dropped to the NSW Cup to accommodate for the return from injury of star fullback Jarryd Hayne against Manly on Saturday night.

Burt, the Eels’ all-time leading NRL tryscorer with 117 tries, will play for Wentworthville on Sunday after Hayne was cleared to return from the knee injury he aggravated in round two.

Just three games shy of his 250th top-grade appearance, Burt will be hoping to replicate the form he showed when dumped earlier this year when he scored 24 points in the second-tier competition.

Also axed form the Eels side that was thumped 39-6 by Penrith is centre Ryan Morgan, with Esi Tonga returning from a hamstring injury earlier than expected to line up alongside brother Willie in the centres.
