Sam Burgess has been handed the South Sydney captaincy following Greg Inglis’ sudden NRL retirement this week.
Coach Wayne Bennett says his England team captain Burgess was the obvious choice.
Burgess will start the on-field part of his new role by leading the Rabbitohs in their Good Friday clash with the Bulldogs.
