Burgess named RLIF player of the year

Sam Burgess’ fairytale exit from rugby league has continued with the former South Sydney enforcer being named the RLIF International Player of the Year at a function in Brisbane.

Burgess becomes the first Englishman to win the award after holding off a group of nominees that included compatriot James Graham, Dally M Medal winners Johnathan Thurston and Jarryd Hayne.
