South Sydney forward George Burgess is facing up to four games on the NRL sidelines after being cited by the league’s judiciary for a shoulder charge in Friday night’s 24-25 loss against Brisbane.
Burgess’s ban can be reduced to three games if he takes the early guilty plea for the hit on Broncos five-eighth Anthony Milford in the second half of the round-eight clash at ANZ Stadium.
If the Rabbitohs prop fails to have the ban overturned, it will be the second time the 25-year-old has been suspended this season, after missing two games for elbowing Newcastle’s Mitchell Barnett in round three.
