Broncos youngster Kahu to miss 2012 season

Brisbane youngster Jordan Kahu will undergo season-ending knee surgery for the second straight year after going down in Saturday night’s NRL trial against North Queensland.

Playing his first game since undergoing a reconstruction on his right knee in 2011, Kahu fell awkwardly early in the Broncos’ 28-22 win.

Scans confirmed a tear of the anterior cruciate ligament in the same knee.

Kahu was seen by some as a possible long-term successor to the retired Darren Lockyer in the Broncos No.6 jumper, but now faces yet another long stint in the rehabilitation room.
